Why book with me?
The photos taken of yourself and family are a special moment. I am a father of three, I treat my clients moments and photos with as much attention to detail as I would my own. Capturing those moments are just as important to me as they are to you. Photography, Editing, and Creating is my passion. I have invested thousand of hours and dollars into perfecting my technique and skills. I own top of the line gear to include camera bodies, lenses, flashes, strobes, soft boxes, backgrounds, tripods, and software to ensure each photo meets my standard. Book with me and your photos will receive the attention they deserve.
When your ready to book a session with me or if you just want to talk about your photography ideas you can contact me through my Facebook page Doug Olson Photography which I prefer or fill out the form at the bottom of this page. Outdoor shoots are usually scheduled early in the morning or later in the afternoon as they provide softer light, ideal for photos. People may not know but overcast days are actually ideal and amazing photos are captured. Alaska is unpredictable, I don't typically reschedule unless it is a downpour of rain. Regardless, at the end of the day I want you to be happy with your photos.
If my child is ill or the weather is pouring rain, can I reschedule?
Of course! Life happens, I will work with you on a date that works for both of us.
What kind of photography do you do?
I specialize in children fine art photography, however, I still enjoy shooting outside in our great state for families, seniors, and couples.
Do you retouch photos?
Definitely!! Capturing the photo is half the battle, editing is where the real magic happens. Editing is a time consuming task that can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 60 minutes PER photo. My editing style is to make the subject as flattering as possible while maintaining natural beauty.
I put the time into each photo to set myself apart. Each photo delivered is of the highest quality. I do not simply hit "apply preset" so that I can deliver 60-80 average photos.
Do you print photos, will I receive the digital copies?
Each photo session is presented in an online viewing gallery, within that gallery there is an option to purchase print which I have linked to the lab that I have chosen and trust. You will receive the digital copy rights for the number of photo package you select. These digital copies are yours to post and print as much as you would like. The viewing gallery will be kept up for a minimum of a month. I keep all photos on portable hard drives and never delete them. I will replace photos the best I can, but ultimately Doug Olson Photography will not be responsible for lost images after the gallery is taken down.
When are you available to do photos?
Monday-Friday 6pm-9pm, Saturday- Sunday 8am-8pm. These are general times that I am available, feel free to contact me about scheduling.
